What are the different alternatives to liposuction

Tumescent liposuction, the proper name for liposuction, has been celebrated as a way to easily contour your body shape. While it has proven to be effective, especially for problematic areas where regular exercise and dieting will not help, most people seek liposuction alternatives to avoid the potential complications that might arise from such surgical procedures. So, is there any real alternatives that are effective? Let’s review some of these new techniques available in the market today.

The most accepted form of liposuction alternative is vaser liposuction. This procedure uses sound energy to melt the fats in the problematic areas before sucking them away. Such an approach results in less bruising than the traditional procedure and seems to be the only alternative that traditional liposuction surgeons found to be effective.

Laser liposuction is another alternative that is picking up interest. It works in similar ways as vaser lipo with the exception that laser is used instead of sound energy. Unlike vaser, current practitioners are not convinced of its effectiveness due to the lack of any scientific measurement of the results. There is also the suspicion of what kind of side effect will the laser radiation lead to.

Endermologie is non invasive treatment that uses physical motions such massaging and sucking the skin to break part the fat deposits that have accumulated under it. The treatment involves the use of rollers and a motorized vibrator to massage the skin. Such treatments often involves multiple sessions over a period of time. According to endermologie practitioners, this treatment can eventually lead to the reduction of the body fats if sufficient treatments have been performed. Similar to laser lipo, there is no scientific evidence supporting the validity of the claims made by the endermologie supporters.

In summary, there are alternative to tumescent liposuction but there is no strong evidence supporting their effectiveness except for vaser liposuction which seem to be a viable choice besides traditional liposuction.
