Eyelash extensions are just what they sound like – they are a way to extend your eyelashes to make them look longer, fuller, or thicker. There are quite a few different types of extensions on the market. There are the traditional glue on type that are applied daily. Then there is the lash lengthening technology provided by some companies that is applied to each lash one lash at a time. These are actually semi permanent eyelash extensions and must be applied by a cosmetologist.
Whether they are the full sets or individual lashes they come in both natural fur and synthetic. The synthetic lashes are used most of the time because the mink fur lashes are extremely expensive. In either case the lashes do not hurt the growth of normal lashes nor do they ever touch the skin. You can not heat curl these extensions due to the fact that they burn. Also be sure to follow your care instructions carefully.
Recently there have been a few mascara companies that provide chemical extensions. These are applied just like regular mascara. The only drawback to the chemical extensions is the fact that they have side effects. Some of these side effects can be both extreme and permanent.
Regardless of which type of extension that you want to try make sure that you get them from a clean reliable cosmetologist or eye care professional. As with anything be sure that you do some research on the method and the practitioner before you try it.
